Bindex_BFM_Slurry_with_SeedInnovative erosion and sediment control solutions are a norm at American Excelsior Company and that is why our Curlex® fibers are the backbone of our erosion and sediment control products.  We now have a family of products to choose from when the project conditions warrant the use of a hydraulically applied product.  Imagine the convenience of ordering base mulch products to a quality bonded fiber matrix (BFM), standard straw, straw/coconut, and coconut blankets, industry standard Curlex erosion control blankets, high performing and environmentally friendly Recyclex® turf reinforcement mats (TRMs), and efficient Curlex Sediment Logs® and standard straw wattles for sediment control all from the same company on the same truck.  The Bindex innovation of a high performance hydraulically applied mulch family of products has provided our customers with the industry's BEST COST DELIVERY SYSTEM from our six manufacturing and distribution centers. 

Curlex Fibers: All products in the Bindex Family of Hydraulic Mulches contain industry standard Curlex fibers.  These are a few of the benefits Curlex fibers add to the Bindex Family of Hydraulic Mulches:

Bindex BFM

Bindex BFM is a one-step erosion control system that provides intimate protection.  Bindex BFM combines natural wood fibers, including Curlex fibers, with a cross-linked binder, tackifier, and dye that is mixed with water and applied hydraulically.  The resultant matrix becomes water insoluble for maximum protection and effective germination immediately after drying.

All ingredients are pre-measured into each bag of Bindex BFM.  This one bag system reduces inventory needs, simplifies compliance, allows for convenient mixing, and helps to ensure consistent quality.  

Bindex BFM Highlights

  • Hydraulically applied slurry "binds" to almost any soil surface and dries to form a bonded fiber matrix that can be hydrated repeatedly
  • Matrix helps reduce surface erosion by holding soil, seed, and amendments in place, while promoting vegetation establishment
  • Matrix protects from rainfall and wind erosion, while releasing moisture to the soil below it
  • Made from wood fibers (including Curlex fibers), a natural binding agent, and a mixture of organic and mineral activators

Bindex Wood

Bindex Wood is a planting mulch containing natural wood fibers, including Curlex fibers.  Its long fibers interlock and cling to the soil.
